The New York State Deputies Association is pleased to offer several scholarships designed to assist students pursuing a degree in a criminal justice field. Several scholarship options are available. Choose the application or applications that you wish to complete below. 

Applications are available in pdf format, and can be opened with the free Adobe Reader.  (If you do not have the free Adobe Reader, click here to download it.)  The form can be completed on line and saved to your computer.  (Please include your last name in the file name). 

Once completed, you can e-mail the file to executivedirector@nysdeputy.org.  You may scan and include the transcript in the same e-mail, or send a copy of your transcript via fax or U.S. Mail at a later time.  (Fax to 585-247-6661)

Please note - We trust you.  Certified copies of high school transcripts are not required.

If you prefer, you can also print the application and send it via U.S. mail with your transcript.

NYSDA Member Organization Scholarship

Provided to each basic and full service member organization.  This scholarship is valued at $250.  Applicant must:

  • Be a member of a NYSDA full or basic level organization (or a dependent of such member)

  • Be pursuing a degree in a criminal justice field

  • Complete at least one semester of college study before receiving the award

  • Complete and submit an application and transcript no later than March 15.

Thomas J. Krajci Memorial Scholarship

Established in memory of Tom Krajci, NYSDA's first Executive Director, who passed away unexpectedly in 2008.  This scholarship is valued at $500.  Applicant must:

  • Be a New York State Resident

  • Be a graduating high school senior

  • Be pursuing a degree in a labor relations or criminal justice related field

  • Submit an application and transcript no later than May 1.

Deputy Kevin Tarsia Memorial Scholarship

Established in memory of Broome County Deputy Kevin Tarsia who was killed in the line of duty. 

This scholarship is valued at $500.  Applicant must:

  • Be a Broome County Resident

  • Be a graduating high school senior

  • Be pursuing a degree in a criminal justice related field

  • Submit an application and transcript no later than May 1.

Deputy Glenn Searles Memorial Scholarship

Established in memory of Onondaga County Deputy Glenn Searles who was killed in the line of duty. 

This scholarship is valued at $500.  Applicant must:

  • Be an Onondaga County Resident

  • Be a graduating high school senior

  • Be pursuing a degree in a criminal justice related field

  • Submit an application and transcript no later than May 1.

Sergeant Eric Loiselle Memorial Scholarship

Established in memory of Essex County Sergeant Eric Loiselle who was killed in the line of duty. 

This scholarship is valued at $500.  Applicant must:

  • Be an Essex County Resident

  • Be a graduating high school senior

  • Be pursuing a degree in a criminal justice related field

  • Submit an application and transcript no later than May 1.

Deputy Kurt Wyman Memorial Scholarship

Established in memory of Oneida County Deputy Kurt Wyman, who was killed in the line of duty. 

This scholarship is valued at $500.  Applicant must:

  • Be an Oneida County Resident

  • Be a graduating high school senior

  • Be pursuing a degree in a criminal justice related field

  • Submit an application and transcript no later than May 1.

Deputy Jeffrey Alexander Memorial Scholarship

Established in memory of Chemung County Deputy Jeffrey Alexander, who was killed in the line of duty. 

This scholarship is valued at $500.  Applicant must:

  • Be a Chemung County Resident

  • Be a graduating high school senior

  • Be pursuing a degree in a criminal justice related field

  • Submit an application and transcript no later than May 1.
